Ri Bhoi — Region in Meghalaya

Umling is a developing region known for its proximity to Nongpoh, the district headquarters. It has fertile agricultural land and is a hub for pineapple and betel nut cultivation. The area also benefits from national highway connectivity (NH-6), making it a growing commercial zone.

Jirang lies closer to the Assam-Meghalaya border and is known for its cultural diversity, with both Khasi and Assamese influences. It is home to the beautiful Umiam Lake (North side) and the Buddhist Golden Temple at Lumdaitkhla, drawing spiritual and eco-tourism.

This region is more rural and hilly, with a strong emphasis on tribal traditions and agriculture. It's dotted with scenic villages and small forests, giving visitors a serene and authentic Meghalayan countryside experience.
